Plainfield Art League - Jan 10th Best of the Best Voting and Reception

January 10th Best Of the Best Reception and online voting This meeting is Jan 10th, 7pm at the  Jon Balke Gallery (JBG), take the elevator upstairs. - This is a free meeting and open to the public - January 10th - Best Of the Best (BoB) Awards Reception at Jon Balke Gallery (JBG) This is the premiere event for PAL members and area high school students.  The students and their parents are particularly invited along with their family and friends. 5-7 PAL members will be voted on to the Alliance of Fine Art (AFA) BoB exhibit. There, members of 13 area art leagues will compete for Best of Show... awards. Artworks may also be for sale. This art show will take place at Wheaton College in May 8th to June 7th 2018. PAL members have always done well at this event receiving awards and/or selling their artworks. The student exhibit is from 4 area high schools.  Members will choose the best from each school.  Of these 4 PAL winners, the top 2 students will be voted on to the Alliance of Fine Art (AFA) BoB exhibit. There, students of 13 area art leagues will compete for 2 Best of Show $500 and 2 $250 awards. At both the 2016 and 2017 student competitions, one of our 2 student entries, received one of the two AFA $500 scholarships.  JBG located at Dist 202 Admin Bldg, 15732 S Howard St, Plainfield IL click=map Only current PAL Members will Vote!  The vote will take place Jan 10th at the meeting.  However if you cannot attend the meeting, you can view the artworks by visiting the JBG or viewing them online and then email your votes to: info@plainfieldartleague.org use this link as it has the voting format already setup. Vote for 5 members artworks and 5 students artworks.  Use the large black number in the upper right of the ID card. JBG located at Dist 202 Admin Bldg, 15732 S Howard St, Plainfield IL click=map ONS - One Night Show - NO ONS Jan 10th A One Night Show (ONS) will also take place during the meeting.  Each person attending should bring in one artwork to display to everyone at the meeting.  The best judged artwork will receive a ribbon.  Remember, bringing in an artwork for the ONS is a defensive move as the judge is chosen from those people that do NOT bring in a piece.  How's that for an unveiled threat. Members Gallery Members, please take a look at our website's Members Gallery page.  18 of our members have submitted an artwork image to put on the PAL website.  Everyone else, please send me one of your images to put in our members gallery.  We'd like to show the world your wonderful art.  Also, include information about your artworks such as medium(s).  Just a short sentence...  look at the couple of members that have more than their name displayed.  Send your image to info@plainfieldartleague.org.  if you need help with getting your image ready, call Mike Bessler @ 630-667-5174. Plainfield Art League Press Release View this email in your browser ***FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE***  The Plainfield Art League would like to invite you to our January Best of Best Reception for The Plainfield Art League and 4 Area High Schools as well as an Open to the public One Night Show on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, from 7pm to 8:45pm at Jon Balke Gallery, located at Dist 202 Admin Bldg, 15732 S Howard St, Plainfield IL.  - This is a free reception and show open to the public - January 10th - Best Of the Best (BoB) Awards Reception at Jon Balke Gallery (JBG) This is the premiere event for PAL members and area high school students.  The public is invited to celebrate and view the Plainfield Art League and Area High School art. 5-7 members will be voted on to the Alliance of Fine Art (AFA) BoB exhibit.
