Mike will go through how to take a photo of your own artwork using your camera and common lighting techniques, so bring your camera and some artwork to copy. Then he will show you how to edit this photo in Lightroom to produce an excellent copy. You should be able to print and sell these giclee's or use these digital negatives on your website.

Bring your camera and your artwork to copy.

Mike Bessler's passion is to create enhanced photographs on canvas that will capture the awe of nature. He particularly enjoys creating and printing very large images that combine his artistic vision with his technical expertise.

National Park Pass for Seniors
Does everyone know about the National Park Pass for seniors?  My wife and I did a road trip last fall and saved a lot of money using our pass.  It is for anyone age 62 or older.  Right now it costs $10 ($20 if you get it online.) and it is for your lifetime.  You and everyone in your car get into National Parks and Monuments for free with the pass.  (It costs $30 just for a pass into Yosemite otherwise.)  AARP says the cost is going to go up to $80 in the next year.  The National Parks pass website says it isn't going up in the next few months but does seem to admit that changes are coming.  I would recommend it if you even think you might go to a National Park ever.  We got ours at Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie in Wilmington.  There is a list of places you can get a pass at this website: https://store.usgs.gov/senior-pass.

ONS - Members One Night Show
A One Night Show (ONS) will also take place during the meeting.  Each member should bring in one artwork to display to everyone at the meeting.  The best judged artwork will receive a ribbon.  Remember, bringing in an artwork for the ONS is a defensive move as the judge is chosen for those members that do NOT bring in a piece.  How's that for an unveiled threat.

Members Gallery
Members, please take a look at our website's Members Gallery page.  16 of 25 members have submitted an artwork image to put on the PAL website.  Everyone else, please send me one of your images to put in our members gallery.  We'd like to show the world your wonderful art.  Also, include information about your artworks such as medium(s).  Just a short sentence...  look at the couple of members that have more than their name displayed.  Send your image to info@plainfieldartleague.org.  if you need help with getting your image ready, call Mike Bessler @ 630-667-5174.
